Renault launches Koleos in India

Renault India has launched its SUV Koleos, priced at Rs. 2.3 million (US$ 49,800), ex-showroom Delhi. The SUV is the company's second vehicle in the Indian market after the Fluence sedan, which was launched in May. "The new Koleos will make its world debut a few days from now at the Frankfurt Motor Show. We are highly optimistic about the product." Renault India Managing Director Marc Nassif told reporters. The Koleos is powered by a 2-litre diesel engine and is available with four-wheel drive and a six-speed automatic transmission. Renault is investing Rs. 45 billion with its alliance partner Nissan in Chennai for a manufacturing plant that would have an installed capacity of 400,000 units a year.
