Royal Enfield has unveiled the new Classic 650 Twin, the latest model featuring its popular 648cc engine, styled closely after the best-selling Classic 350.

Design, features, and colours

The Classic 650 Twin is powered by Royal Enfield's reliable 648cc, parallel-twin engine, producing 48 PS at 7,250 rpm and 52.3 Nm of torque at 5,650 rpm.

Like other RE 650 models, it includes a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. The internal ratios and final drive gearing are the same as those on the Shotgun 650.

The Classic 650 Twin shares several components with the Shotgun 650, including the main frame, brakes, twin shock absorbers, and swingarm.

Differences include its 19/18-inch wire-spoke wheels and 43mm telescopic fork. The bike is fitted with new MRF Nylohigh tyres, sized 100/90-19 at the front and 140/70-R18 at the rear, and has the same suspension travel as the Shotgun: 120mm at the front and 90mm at the rear.

Weighing 243 kg, the Classic 650 Twin is the heaviest in the Royal Enfield range. It has a 14.8-litre fuel tank, the largest on any RE 650 model except the Super Meteor. Seat height is set at 800mm, and ground clearance is 154mm.

The Classic 650 Twin features a digi-analogue display similar to the one on the smaller Classic, with a gear position indicator and a standard Tripper navigation pod.

It also comes factory-equipped with adjustable brake and clutch levers. Four colour options are available: Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome. Enthusiasts may recognise the last two options from the original UCE Classic models, now revived in the Classic 650 Twin.

Royal Enfield is expected to showcase the Classic 650 Twin at its MotoVerse biking festival later in November, with an India launch anticipated in the near future.
