Saige, a China-based electric scooter manufacturer, has inaugurated a new factory in the Surya Cipta Industrial Estate, Karawang, West Java.
The establishment of this new factory means that the manufacturer no longer needs to import products from China to Indonesia. The company is also planning to export its models from Indonesia, particularly to meet demand in Southeast Asian markets.
The 5-hectare factory has a production capacity of up to one million vehicles annually and a stockholding capacity of up to 1.25 million units. It is prepared to serve market demand, which the company claims continues to soar.
Saige's marketing network has also expanded widely through 200 dealers and is ready to serve customers throughout Indonesia, ensuring that its products and after-sales services are easily accessible to all.
Its product range includes electric bicycles, electric scooters and three-wheeled vehicles specifically designed for passenger transport, as well as the transportation of goods and cargo. This diverse product line has been developed to meet the mobility needs of the public, whether for personal, family or daily business use.
Responding to the selection of Indonesia as the company's most important overseas production base, Saige Group Marketing Director Tony Tang emphasised that this represents a significant step in the company's globalisation strategy, marking a transition from product exports to a new phase of localised overseas production.
"By relying on this overseas production base, we will further refine our global production capacity layout, enhance the brand's international influence, and support the group's in-depth development of overseas markets," he said at the Saige factory.
Saige's confidence in continuing to expand its business is based on nearly 30 years of experience and accumulated expertise.
"We have a complete vehicle research and development system, as well as mature intelligent manufacturing capabilities, along with a large number of proprietary technology patents," Tony further explained. He added that the strength of a complete industrial chain and consistent quality control capabilities are the key factors that give the company the confidence to compete in the global market.
