VW to launch facelifted Phaeton, Touareg in China
China Car Times, 11 Aug '10

The VW Phaeteon and Touareg have been big hits in China - especially the Toureg SUV, which was essentially one of the first big SUV's to hit the Chinese market and become popular right away.

The next-generation Phaeton had its world unveiling at the Beijing Auto Show in April this year, as VW understand that for this type of car Asia is the next big market, especially China. The Phaeton will be available in V6, V8 and W12 engine configuration, with the W12 being good for at least 450bhp.

The new Touareg is not due for launch in China until the end of November or even December, from what reporters have so far learned.

The updated grill will bring the Touareg into line with the rest of the VW line-up, especially its smaller sibling, the Tiguan.
