According to Circular No. 124/2011/TT-BTC issued by Vietnam's Ministry of Finance on September 7th, buyers of cars of less than 10 seats (including the case of passenger truck or cargo vehicles) will have to pay a registration fee of 10-20% from October 15th, 2011.

The latest government circular follows on from the proposed taxation rates mentioned in Decree 45/2011/ND-CP, which was issued in June.
