Chery to introduce Lepas sub-brand at GIIAS 2025
Kabar Oto, 23 Jul '25
Chery is set to launch a new sub-brand, Lepas, at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2025.
Indonesia will be the first country outside China to market this brand.
The introduction of the Lepas brand in Indonesia forms part of Chery's strategy to strengthen its presence in the Southeast Asian market, particularly in Indonesia, which holds significant potential in the urban vehicle segment and among the younger demographic.
Lepas embodies a philosophy centred on freedom, expressiveness, and vibrancy, with the slogan 'Colorful Life, Masterful Drive.'
At GIIAS 2025, Chinese automakers' exhibition areas are reportedly separated from those of other automotive brands.
In addition to showcasing their vehicles, these zones will feature interactive and futuristic designs.
Alongside the unveiling of new products, Lepas will also present its long-term strategy for Indonesia, which includes after-sales services, the development of a dealer network, and plans for local production in the coming years.
Chery aims to position this sub-brand as a competitive alternative in the urban mobility segment, especially given the strong public demand for stylish, efficient, and affordable private vehicles.
During its debut, Lepas will introduce three models: the L8, L6, and L4. These vehicles are designed to appeal to active, tech-savvy urban consumers seeking stylish yet comfortable mobility solutions.
The Lepas L8, a flagship compact SUV, features an elegant design, advanced safety technologies, and a spacious interior.
It shares its platform with the Tiggo 8 and Jaecoo J7.
The Lepas L6 and L4 offer more compact alternatives while maintaining modern technological features and high efficiency, making them suitable for daily urban use.
Both models are smaller than the Lepas L8 and serve as more premium versions of the Tiggo 7 and Tiggo Cross.
