Sri Lanka will see an expansion in automotive mobility as David Pieris Automobiles (DPA) becomes the authorised distributor and seller for GWM, a global automotive manufacturer.
David Pieris Automobiles (DPA), the four-wheeler sales arm of the David Pieris Group of Companies, has been appointed as an authorised seller and distributor for GWM in Sri Lanka.
This partnership introduces hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and new energy vehicles (NEVs) to the local market, combining advanced technology with a wider range of options, reliability, and functional value.
The initial launch portfolio includes the Haval H6 Hybrid (HEV), the Haval H6 Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), and the Haval GT Plug-in Hybrid (PHEV), which allow customers in Sri Lanka to drive electrically in urban areas while relying on petrol power for longer distances.
These models are designed to provide fuel efficiency and range flexibility.
In addition, DPA will introduce the Tank 300 Hybrid, the Tank 500 Hybrid, and the fully electric ORA, further expanding the available options. The launch presents GWM's philosophy, "Hello, to More," which emphasises practical benefits such as reliability and value.
It also supports the global brand positioning, "Go With More," as recognition increases in the Sri Lankan market.
GWM operates in over 100 countries. Its Haval H6 is the leading SUV in its category in Australia, noted for its performance, reliability, and value.
Through DPA's nationwide network and over four decades of experience, Sri Lankan customers have access to GWM's global expertise, supported by after-sales service and reach across the country. The portfolio available through DPA offers functional mobility choices in Sri Lanka.
Customers can access vehicles that combine efficiency, performance, and readiness.
GWM's hybrid and electric vehicles provide flexibility for urban electric driving, petrol power for longer journeys, cost-effective daily operation, and instant e-torque combined with petrol power when needed.
This is supported by nationwide service coverage and DPA's 40-year operational experience, providing a practical mobility solution for Sri Lankan drivers.
Each model introduced in Sri Lanka serves a specific purpose. The Haval H6 targets families and urban users seeking comfort and technology.
The Haval GT combines performance and design. The Tank 300 is suited for drivers operating beyond urban areas, while the Tank 500 offers space and functionality. Through these models, GWM and DPA provide vehicles designed to meet different customer requirements while expanding the range of mobility options in Sri Lanka.
