Vietnam car market expands with higher production, Q4 discounts
Vietnam Net, 10 Oct '25
Vietnam's domestic car output has increased as manufacturers expand production, while discounts continue during the competitive Q4 sales period.
Vietnam's automotive market continues to grow as local manufacturers increase production and import volumes rise.
According to a report from the General Statistics Office under the Ministry of Finance, September recorded a notable increase in new cars entering the Vietnamese market, comprising both locally produced and imported vehicles.
Regarding imports, fully assembled cars continued to enter the market, with both volume and value demonstrating growth compared with previous months.
As the market enters Q4 - the traditional peak season driven by pre-Tet holiday demand - car buyers are witnessing some of the largest discounts in recent years.
Despite rising interest in vehicle purchases, strong supply and high inventory levels are creating intense price-cutting competition across the sector.
Analysts indicate that this period presents favourable conditions for Vietnamese consumers to purchase vehicles at highly competitive prices.
