In China, efforts to strengthen international partnerships in the commercial vehicle sector progressed on October 14th, when a delegation from Japan's Toyota Tsusho engaged with GAC Hino Motors to explore opportunities for cooperation.
On the same day, a delegation led by the Chief Operating Officer of Toyota Tsusho visited GAC Hino Motors to discuss potential collaboration and the joint expansion of their commercial vehicle businesses overseas.
The meeting concluded with the signing of a strategic Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), establishing the next phase of their partnership.
During the discussions, both parties examined how Toyota Tsusho's global network and market expertise could be utilised alongside GAC Hino Motors' capabilities in product development, technology, and quality to support the internationalisation of GAC Hino Motors' commercial vehicles.
The collaboration forms part of GAC Hino Motors' "Go Global" strategy. By leveraging Toyota Tsusho's international trade network and localised operations, GAC Hino Motors' commercial vehicle line-up is expected to reach additional regions more efficiently, improving its global presence.
For Toyota Tsusho, partnering with GAC Hino Motors - an emerging Chinese company with experience in new energy commercial vehicles - will expand the company's automotive portfolio and support its participation in the global transition to electric commercial transport.
GAC Hino Motors and Toyota Tsusho intend to use this agreement to strengthen mutual collaboration, explore new international markets, and advance the globalisation of the Chinese commercial vehicle industry as well as the development of sustainable logistics.
