Kia launches Clavis EV HTX E

Kia has updated its electric vehicle lineup in India with the introduction of the HTX E trim for the Carens Clavis EV.
The HTX E trim is positioned between the existing HTK+ and HTX trims. The Clavis HTX E Standard variant is priced at Rs. 1.99 million (US$ 22,755), while the Extended Range (ER) variant is available at Rs. 2.19 million. The trim incorporates features from the higher HTX trim.

Features
Compared with the HTK+ trim, the HTX E adds a panoramic sunroof, 64-colour ambient lighting, leatherette upholstery, a leatherette-wrapped steering wheel, tilt and telescopic steering adjustment, a retractable seatback table, voice-operated auto up/down functionality for all windows, LED interior lights, an anti-glare interior rear-view mirror (IRVM), and an air purifier.
On the inside, it has a dual-tone beige and navy blue theme, while the Extended Range variant also receives 17-inch alloy wheels.
The HTX E largely matches the feature set of the HTX trim, with the primary difference being that the HTX includes the ADAS suite. The equipment list of the top-spec HTX+ trim remains unchanged.
Powertrain options
The HTX E is available with both Standard and Extended Range batteries.
The Standard variant is equipped with a 42kWh battery, providing an ARAI-claimed range of 404 km, and a single front-mounted motor producing 137 PS and 255 Nm of torque. The Extended Range variant features a 51.4kWh battery with an ARAI-rated range of 490 km and a front motor producing 173 PS and 255 Nm of torque.
