Volvo Buses Malaysia has launched a new bus chassis designed to comply with Euro 5 emission standards.
The newly developed B11R is equipped with an advanced exhaust control system that reduces emissions by up to 80% compared with previous Euro 3 and Euro 4 standards.
The Volvo B11R chassis also includes a range of advanced safety features in addition to its environmentally friendly engine technology.
The Driver Safety System (DSS) comprises several active safety systems, including Collision Warning with Emergency Brake (automatic braking if the driver does not act), Forward Collision Warning, Cruise Control, Lane Change Support, and Lane Keeping Support.
Collectively, these functions provide safety enhancements beyond current legal requirements.
Volvo Buses Malaysia general manager Marcus Mak stated that the B11R integrates advanced technology and offers operational and economic benefits to operators.
He noted that passengers associate Volvo with safety and expect travel in vehicles that provide enhanced protection.
Mak also highlighted that the manufacture of high-quality buses requires collaboration with technically competent partners.
He emphasised that the delivery of chassis to the market depends on reliable coach builders.
