Volvo launches three new EV models
Kabar Oto, 17 Oct '25
Volvo Car Indonesia has launched its latest range of electrified vehicles.
The three new models are the XC60 plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) facelift, XC60 mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV), and the XC90 mild hybrid electric vehicle (MHEV).
"By introducing Plug-in Hybrid and Mild Hybrid technology, Indonesians can access the benefits of electric mobility suited to their daily needs. The XC60 and XC90 launched today reflect Volvo's focus on safe and responsible driving," stated Yoshiki Terawaki, President Director of Volvo Car Indonesia.
The facelifted Volvo XC60 PHEV features a new diagonal front grille, inspired by the latest XC90 design language. Darker taillight accents provide a different visual appearance without altering Volvo's design style.
Inside the cabin, the XC60 is equipped with an 11.2-inch infotainment screen with Google integration, powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon Cockpit platform, which offers increased responsiveness and smoother graphics. Wireless charging and a redesigned centre console improve practicality within a Scandinavian design layout.
For the 2025 model year, Volvo has introduced two new colour options: Forest Lake and Cardamom for the interior.
The XC60 T8 AWD Plug-in Hybrid combines a turbocharged petrol engine with an electric motor to produce 461 PS.
It offers an all-electric range of up to 82 km and low fuel consumption. The 18.8 kWh battery can be fully charged in approximately three hours using a 16A 3-phase charger.
The XC60 Mild Hybrid uses a 48V system that assists acceleration, recovers braking energy, and improves fuel efficiency without requiring plug-in charging.
The XC90 B5 AWD Mild Hybrid delivers 253 PS through a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine paired with a 48V mild hybrid system. The XC90 is a seven-passenger SUV that includes an optional 1,400W Bowers & Wilkins audio system, a panoramic roof, and Active Air Suspension.
All models are equipped with Volvo's Pilot Assist, Blind Spot Information System (BLIS), 360 degrees camera, and Collision Avoidance technology. Prices start from IDR 1.25 billion (US$ 75,000) for the XC60 MHEV variant.
Prices:
- XC60 PHEV facelift - IDR 1.5 billion
- XC60 MHEV - IDR 1.25 billion
- XC90 MHEV - IDR 1.75 billion
All three models are available for order through authorised Volvo Car Indonesia dealers.
